North Sumatra's Pekan Raya 2026 boosts tourism and draws crowds with stamp‑hunting games
Governor Bobby Nasution of North Sumatra praised for intensifying tourism development around Danau Toba, with Deputy Chair of DPR Commission VII Evita Nursanty highlighting the province’s commitment to national and international events. She noted progress in infrastructure but warned that limited air connectivity remains a barrier to attracting investors and visitors.
During the 2026 edition of the Pekan Raya Sumatera Utara (PRSU) fair, organizers introduced a stamp‑collecting game that encouraged visitors to explore at least 24 of the 33 regional pavilion booths and five mandatory sponsor stalls (Indosat, Bank Sumut, Oxygen, Lazada, Gojek). Participants exchanged completed passport‑style sheets for merchandise such as water bottles, backpacks and other items. The activity attracted large numbers of families from Medan and surrounding areas, underscoring public enthusiasm for the fair’s showcase of regional culture and economic potential.
