Northeast Frontier Railway cancels and reschedules dozens of trains due to track settlement at New Harangajao, Assam

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) announced further changes to train services on the Lumding–Badarpur hill section as restoration work continues after track settlement at New Harangajao station. Operations are now limited to Line 3 with continuous safety monitoring, and passenger‑carrying trains are restricted between 7 pm and 5 am.

Six long‑distance trains were cancelled, including the Guwahati–Dullabcherao Express (15617), Dullabcherao–Guwahati (15618), Guwahati–Silchar (15615), Silchar–Guwahati (15616), Silchar–New Tinsukia (15641) and New Tinsukia–Silchar (15642). Numerous other services were rescheduled to late‑night departures, such as the Narangi–Agartala Express (15650) at 10:30 pm, the Agartala–Narangi Express (15649) at 11:30 pm, and adjustments to the Guwahati–Sairang, Rangiya–Silchar, Silchar–Rangiya and Agartala–Deogarh trains. NFR said the revisions aim to ensure passenger safety while restoration work proceeds.
