Northern Cyprus employment incentive package lifts monthly support to 400 million TL

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced a new employment incentive package for Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) citizens employed as insured workers. The package raises the total monthly employment support from about 270 million TL to 400 million TL and increases the wage subsidy for employers from 20,000 TL to 35,000 TL. Social‑security premium support for TRNC women workers rises from 80 % to 100 % and for men from 60 % to 80 %. The measures, covering sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, auto, construction, transport, hospitality and services, were published in the Official Gazette and take effect from the start of July.

The government also detailed enforcement rules: employers who under‑report workers’ earnings or register persons who are not actually working can be barred from receiving incentives. Penalties range from a one‑month to a one‑year suspension, depending on the type of violation and the specific incentive law involved.
