North Cyprus PM Ünal Üstel declares region a rising Eastern Mediterranean investment hub

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel addressed the Tüm Emlak Danışmanları Birliği (TEDB) real‑estate summit in Girne, emphasizing that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is becoming a key investment centre in the Eastern Mediterranean. He highlighted the sector’s role as an economic locomotive, the government’s focus on investor confidence, and recent infrastructure projects such as the new Ercan Airport, upgraded roads, health facilities and energy initiatives. Üstel stressed that the TRNC is a ‘law‑state’ with robust property‑rights protection and that the government will maintain a predictable, stable environment for investors. In parallel, Akol Global announced a zero‑down‑payment financing model for residential purchases in the north, aiming to remove traditional financial barriers and attract further foreign capital. The summit’s organizers, including the Turkish Real‑Estate Association and Baştaşlar Group, presented the TRNC’s growing tourism numbers and projected population growth as additional incentives for investment.
