President Tufan Erhürman meets EU Vice‑President Raffaele Fitto on confidence‑building measures
President Tufan Erhürman of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus held a written‑statement meeting with European Commission Senior Vice‑President Raffaele Fitto on 31 July 2026. Erhürman said the recent unilateral and biased actions of EU bodies, especially the European Parliament, have weakened Turkish‑Cypriot trust in the Union.
He urged that confidence‑building measures are needed with the EU as well as with the Greek‑Cypriot leadership.
