Northern Cyprus sets new minimum wage of 61,677 TL effective July 1 2026
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security announced that the new minimum wage in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will be 61,677 TL net per month, equivalent to 408.99 TL per hour, 3,271.98 TL per day and 16,359.92 TL per week. No objections were filed during the ten‑day appeal period, so the decision became final and will take effect on 1 July 2026.
Pensioners, recipients of social assistance, widows and children of martyrs, and disabled war veterans will receive increased salaries and benefits. A total payment of 257,237,055 TL will be distributed to 6,038 disabled citizens at the new wage rate.
The government also approved an incentive package that raises prime and employment support payments to about 350 million TL, up from roughly 270 million TL. Sector‑specific assistance will continue for agriculture, manufacturing, auto, construction, transport, hospitality, trade and other services, with new measures introduced for the KKTC labour market. "ASGARİ ÜCRETE İTİRAZ OLMADI, ÇALIŞANIMIZI VE ÜRETİMİ KORUYAN DESTEKLERİ HAYATA GEÇİRİYORUZ" said Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu.
