Northern Nigeria Village Attack Leaves Over 30 Dead Amid Farmer‑Herder Violence

In the early hours of Sunday, an armed group stormed Naridon village in Kaduna State, northern Nigeria, killing at least 30 people, including women and children. Residents reported the assailants opened fire, set homes ablaze, and fled as security forces arrived, leaving behind some livestock. Separately, in the Agboville department of Côte d’Ivoire, about fifteen cattle were stolen from the village of Gbanguier on the night of 25‑26 July 2026. The thieves loaded the animals onto a Kia truck but abandoned the vehicle after a gendarmerie patrol from Agboville pursued them. The seized truck was impounded, and investigators continue to search for the suspects amid rising concerns over livestock theft in the Agneby area.
