Northern Norway issued yellow weather warning for strong winds

A yellow weather warning has been issued for parts of Northern Norway, specifically covering parts of Nordland and Troms. The warning is effective from Sunday morning until the night leading into Monday.

Meteorologists predict strong wind gusts ranging from 27 to 33 meters per second, with some coastal areas potentially experiencing little to full storm conditions. The weather system is expected to impact Lofoten and Vestfjorden first before moving northward.

In addition to high winds, the low-pressure system is expected to bring heavy rainfall, high waves, and the possibility of thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon and evening. Authorities recommend securing loose objects, as the weather may lead to road closures, canceled departures, and power outages.
