Greece launches childcare voucher registrations and unemployment training programs

Various social welfare and training programs are launching across Greece.

In Athens, the Municipal Nursery (DBA) is beginning registration for infants and toddlers using ESPA vouchers starting August 26. Eligible children include infants aged 6 months to 2.5 years and pre-schoolers up to the start of compulsory education. Parents must schedule appointments via an electronic platform to sign contracts, with placement subject to availability.

In Chios, parents holding EETAΑ vouchers must book appointments starting August 24 to secure one of 150 available spots in municipal nursery stations.

In Thessaloniki, the municipality is inviting voucher holders to select Creative Childcare Centers (KDAP) for the 2026-2027 year, offering diverse educational and recreational activities.

Additionally, the Public Employment Service (DYPA) is launching a subsidized beekeeping training program in the Municipality of Northern Tzoumerka and surrounding areas. The 295-hour course is open to 20 unemployed individuals aged 18 to 60. Participants will receive a training allowance of 5 euros per hour, totaling up to 1,475 euros, along with medical coverage.
