Northern Vietnam braces for heavy rain through early July
The Vietnam National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that northern Vietnam will experience a period of heavy rain and thunderstorms from late June into early July. Rainfall is expected to intensify from the night of June 30 through July 1, with some locations reporting very heavy downpours. The forecast indicates that from July 4 to July 7 a broad, large‑scale rain event could affect the entire northern region, including mountainous and coastal areas such as Quảng Ninh and Hải Phòng.
Temperatures across the affected provinces will range between 20 °C and 35 °C, with scattered showers and thunderstorms accompanying the rain. Residents are advised to stay alert for sudden heavy rain and possible flooding, especially in low‑lying and mountainous zones.
