Northshore Apparel CEO urges Ghana to award uniform contracts locally
Nurideen Mohammed, CEO of Northshore Apparel Ghana Limited, has called on the Ghanaian government to award uniform production contracts for security services and public institutions to local manufacturers.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Northshore Apparel Industrial Park in Savelugu, Mohammed argued that the current reliance on imported uniforms drains the country of foreign exchange. He stated that local production would retain currency within Ghana, create jobs, and generate tax revenue.
Mohammed emphasized that the company is not seeking preferential treatment but rather the opportunity to compete based on quality and pricing. He noted that producing uniforms domestically would provide stable orders for local factories while supporting their eventual expansion into international markets.
