Northwest Argentina expands wine industry through regional identity and gourmet events

The wine industry in Northwest Argentina is seeing growth through specialized regional identities and gourmet experiences. In Jujuy, the province is establishing itself on the national viticultural map by leveraging the unique characteristics of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Although the industry is small, with only 73 hectares across 36 vineyards, producers are focusing on high-altitude wines such as Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah that reflect the local landscape.

Simultaneously, new culinary initiatives are expanding the wine experience in the region. Caballo Dorado Consultora is launching ‘After Wine’ events in Catamarca and La Rioja. These events combine high-end gastronomy with boutique winery tastings, featuring multi-course menus designed to pair with exclusive labels, followed by social gatherings intended to celebrate local wine culture.
