Northwest Vietnam enters golden rice harvest season

The terraced rice fields in Northwest Vietnam, specifically in Luc Hon and Muc Cang Chai, have entered their annual golden harvest season. This period attracts numerous tourists and photographers drawn to the vibrant yellow landscapes of the mountain slopes.

In Luc Hon, the 2026 Golden Harvest Festival is scheduled for October and November, featuring an art program on October 24 at the Luc Na communal house. New activities include a trekking and camping event at Cao Xiem Mountain on October 17, as well as a cultural and culinary showcase of local OCOP products and traditional crafts from the Tay, Dao, and San Chi ethnic groups from October 23 to 25.

In Muc Cang Chai, the Mam Xoi Hill remains a prominent landmark for the season. Photographers frequently visit the area during September and early October to capture the circular, layered formations of the ripening rice against the mountain backdrop.
