Norway boat accident: One Czech citizen dead, three others missing

A fishing boat accident near the island of Averøya, located near Kristiansund in western Norway, has resulted in the death of one Czech citizen and left three others missing. The four Czech tourists had rented the vessel on Friday morning and were expected to return before nightfall.

Rescuers discovered the empty boat on Saturday, but the crew was not on board. While one body has been recovered, local police and the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they do not expect the three remaining missing persons to have survived the incident.

The search and rescue operation is being coordinated by the Norwegian Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (HRS) and has involved helicopters and various vessels. Search efforts were temporarily interrupted on Saturday evening due to poor weather conditions and darkness.
