Poland fuel prices to drop for gasoline and diesel

Fuel prices in Poland are expected to decrease for gasoline and diesel during the period of October 17–19, 2026. The Polish Ministry of Energy has announced new maximum retail prices as part of the ‘Lower Fuel Prices’ (CPN) program. Under these regulations, the maximum price for 95-octane gasoline is set at 6.89 PLN/l, 98-octane at 7.68 PLN/l, and diesel at 8.00 PLN/l.

The CPN program, which is scheduled to remain in effect until the end of 2026, utilizes reduced VAT and excise tax rates to mitigate high costs for drivers. This initiative follows legislation regarding windfall taxes on fuel companies, signed by President Karol Nawrocki, intended to fund these price supports.

While liquid fuels are seeing downward price corrections due to lower wholesale costs from suppliers like Orlen and Aramco, LPG prices are projected to rise. Analysts note that the downward trend in wholesale prices is beginning to reach the retail market, providing relief to most motorists despite ongoing geopolitical tensions affecting global oil markets.
