Norway issues warning of severe wildfire danger in the south

The Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness (DSB) has issued a warning about a high risk of forest fires in Southern Norway, urging people to take extreme precautions with outdoor activities and to follow official guidance.

May 1 has been an unusually busy day with many fires reported across terrain in Southern Norway, underscoring the heightened risk level in the region.

The warning includes a directive not to rely on personal assessments, with authorities stating: "Do not make your own assessments." The messages emphasize reliance on official information to stay safe and minimize the impact of wildfires.
