Norway pledges €48 million to repair Ukraine energy infrastructure

Norway has committed 500 million kroner (approximately €48 million) to assist Ukraine in repairing its energy infrastructure and purchasing essential equipment. The aid, announced by Energy Minister Terje Aasland during a visit to Kyiv, is intended to bolster the stability of Ukraine’s power supply and mitigate humanitarian consequences ahead of the winter season.

The funds will be disbursed in November and December through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, allowing for rapid allocation to urgent repair work and critical investments as determined by Ukraine. This assistance is part of the Norwegian government’s Nansen Programme.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Norway has allocated more than 16 billion kroner to Ukraine for gas purchases, energy infrastructure recovery, and new technological solutions.
