Norway pledges 85 billion NOK in aid to Ukraine
Norway has committed to maintaining its significant financial support for Ukraine, pledging 85 billion NOK for 2026 through the Nansen Program. This funding level matches the previous year's allocation.
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced that the package will be divided between military and civilian needs. Specifically, 70 billion NOK is earmarked for military assistance, while 15 billion NOK is designated for civilian support to assist the population, particularly in preparation for difficult winter conditions.
Støre emphasized that supporting Ukraine's defense and reconstruction is an investment in European security. The announcement follows his visit to Kyiv alongside Scandinavian and Baltic leaders to signal continued Norwegian solidarity.
