Norway-Ukraine financial and strategic aid
Overview
Norway has committed significant financial aid to Ukraine through the Nansen Programme. Initial announcements detailed a pledge of 85 billion NOK for 2026, split between 70 billion NOK for military assistance and 15 billion NOK for civilian support to assist the population during winter conditions.
Following this, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced that Norway will also allocate approximately $9.2 billion (85 billion NOK) for 2027, maintaining the same level of support. Beyond financial aid, Norway and Ukraine signed a strategic partnership agreement focusing on cooperation in drone production. This follows similar intentions from Finland to cooperate on the development of unmanned aerial and surface vessels.
