Norway's TV-aksjonen campaign highlights refugee stories

Participants from the Volda Learning Centre are sharing personal stories of displacement to support the upcoming TV-aksjonen fundraising campaign. Individuals from Afghanistan, Sudan, and Syria are highlighting the cultural richness of their homelands to encourage others to see beyond the headlines of war and conflict.

The Norwegian fundraising initiative, which has a history dating back to 1974, aims to provide safe housing, water, and sanitation projects for over 400,000 displaced people in regions including Syria, Gaza, Afghanistan, Chad, Sudan, and DR Congo. With global displacement numbers reaching over 120 million people, the campaign seeks to fund emergency shelters and legal assistance through community donations and door-to-door collections.
