Norwegian Cruise Line opens Great Tides Waterpark on Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) inaugurated the Great Tides Waterpark on its private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, on September 4. The six‑acre attraction features 19 waterslides, including the Caribbean’s only four‑person body slide, duelling uphill slides, a floating tunnel, and a family‑friendly play area. Cabins, bars, and food outlets provide additional amenities, while an adults‑only Vibe Shore Club and beachfront cabanas offer relaxation spaces.
The waterpark is part of a broader redevelopment of the 270‑acre island, which now includes a new two‑berth pier allowing cruise ships to dock directly, reducing tender‑boat transfers. NCL President Marc Kazlauskas said the project expands family activities and high‑energy attractions for guests on Caribbean itineraries, with day passes available for eligible voyages.
