Norwegian Cruise Line unveils Great Tides waterpark on Bahamas island
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) released the first images of its new Great Tides Waterpark on Great Stirrup Cay, the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas. The park, covering roughly 24,000‑25,000 m², is slated for an official opening on 4 September 2026.
Key attractions include an immersive tunnel called The Wandering River, The Great Slide – a four‑person body slide, and the Caribbean’s first Master Blaster dueling slides (Breakwater Blasters) that propel rafts uphill with high‑pressure water jets. Other features are the family‑focused Splash Cay, Cliffside Cove with the highest cliff jumps in the region, and new dining venues such as Low Tide Smoke (BBQ), Catch of the Cay (seafood), Tidal Treats (desserts), the Grotto Bar and Floataway Bar.
A new two‑berth dock on the island is already open, improving shore‑side access. Guests can book a seven‑night Caribbean cruise on the Norwegian Luna starting 29 August and purchase one‑day passes for the waterpark.
