Notaresco and Quartu Sant'Elena inaugurate new school canteens
New school canteen facilities have been inaugurated in Notaresco and Quartu Sant'Elena, funded largely through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
In Notaresco, a renovated and expanded facility costing just over 600,000 euros is now ready to serve approximately 300 students from nursery and primary schools. The project, which included an additional 200 square meters, covers the entire meal cycle, including the kitchen, pantry, washing areas, and changing rooms. The local administration contributed approximately 11,000 euros toward the project.
In another development, a new canteen in Quartu Sant'Elena, costing 700,000 euros through European and municipal funds, has opened. This zero-consumption facility features photovoltaic systems and LED lighting. The structure is designed to accommodate approximately 230 children per shift across two turns, providing a dedicated dining area and kitchen separate from previous makeshift classroom arrangements.
