Noto hosts mobile health‑screening tour, over 40 mammograms performed

The provincial health‑prevention tour "La Salute nel Quartiere" launched in Noto, Sicily, with a mobile unit from the ASP of Siracusa. The event turned Piazza XVI Maggio into a health hub, delivering more than 40 on‑site mammograms and offering cervical‑cancer, colon‑cancer and postpartum support services. It is part of the National Health‑Equity Programme 2021‑2027, aimed at removing economic, cultural and geographic barriers to preventive care.

Organisers include the ASP of Siracusa, the Noto municipality’s social‑policy office and local third‑sector groups, with volunteers providing entertainment for families. The mobile unit, equipped with a modern mammography system, also registers Pap‑test and HPV‑test appointments and distributes kits for faecal occult blood testing. After Noto, the camper will travel to other towns in the province throughout June.
