Nova Iguaçu expands pediatric Pneumo 20 vaccination sites to 11 health units

Starting Monday July 6, 2026, the Pneumo 20 vaccine will be offered at 11 health facilities in Nova Iguaçu for children under five years old. Five of these sites will operate extended hours, Monday‑Friday from 08:00 to 22:00.

Pneumo 20 protects against 20 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae, which can cause severe illnesses such as pneumonia and meningitis. The recommended schedule is a first dose of Pneumo 20 at two months, a second dose of Pneumo 10 at four months, and a booster dose of Pneumo 20 at twelve months. Parents must bring the child’s vaccination card, an identity document or CPF, and be accompanied by an adult.

The newly added locations include Centro de Saúde Vasco Barcelos, Clínica da Família Elaine Ambrósio, Clínica da Família Jardim Paraíso, Policlínica de Vila de Cava, Policlínica de Miguel Couto, Policlínica do Shopping Nova Iguaçu, Policlínica Santa Rita, Clínica da Família Dr. Marco Pólo, Clínica da Família Vila Operária, Clínica da Família Dolores Delfino Gomes, and Policlínica Edi Pinto da Silva.
