Nova Minerals secures permits for Alaska antimony production

Nova Minerals has received final approvals from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources for its plan of operations and reclamation plan, completing the permitting process for its antimony project in Alaska. The company aims to begin production in 2027.

Phase 1 of the project is supported by US$43.4 million from the US Department of Defense to bolster domestic production capacity of military-grade antimony trisulphide. The company has already procured and delivered major long-lead mining and processing equipment to project locations.

As part of a strategy to onshore US antimony production, Nova Minerals previously secured a land use permit for a proposed refinery near Port MacKenzie. This facility is intended to establish a fully integrated, mine-to-processing production hub capable of producing antimony trisulfide, antimony trioxide, and antimony metal for both military and industrial applications.
