Novartis launches ‘Lleva la Delantera’ breast cancer empowerment campaign in Spain
Novartis, together with the Spanish Federation of Breast Cancer (FECMA), the Spanish Metastatic Breast Cancer Association, the Catalan Federation of Cancer Entities (FECEC) and the Hereditary Breast‑Ovarian Cancer Association (AMOH), unveiled the ‘Lleva la Delantera’ campaign. The initiative aims to empower women with breast cancer by providing clear information, fostering doctor‑patient dialogue and supporting shared decision‑making throughout treatment and follow‑up.
Spain records more than 38,000 new breast‑cancer diagnoses each year, about 29 % of all female cancers. According to the IMPORta report, 84 % of patients with early‑stage disease cite fear of recurrence as their chief concern. FECMA president Antonia Gimón stressed that “it is essential to advance toward integral, personalised care and guarantee equitable access to innovative treatments.” FECEC president Maria Assumpció Vilà added that active patient participation “ensures a more personalised approach and better‑informed choices.”
