Novi Sad citizens schedule anniversary protest of 2025 SNS clash
Citizens assemblies in Novi Sad announced a commemoration of the clashes that occurred on 13 August 2025 in front of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) offices. The groups said the date "defines Novi Sad" and called for participants to remember the incident.
During the 2025 protest, supporters of the ruling party fired pyrotechnics at demonstrators while being protected by police and the gendarmerie. Several people were injured, including members of the police unit "Kobra". Subsequent arrests led to a blockade of the judicial building in Novi Sad on 19‑20 August 2025, where protesters demanded the release of those detained.
