Nowon-gu launches real-time urban renewal tracking platform

Nowon-gu in Seoul is launching ‘Nowon Reconstruction and Redevelopment NOW ON’, an online integrated platform designed to provide residents with real-time updates on local urban renewal projects. Scheduled to open on the district's official website on the 16th, the map-based service will centralize information that was previously scattered across different sources.

Residents will be able to access details such as current project stages, site locations, land area, planned project scales, and contact information for relevant departments. As projects progress, the platform will also release visual materials like bird's-eye views and maintenance plans. The system utilizes the same ‘Smart Vision’ data used by the district head's office to ensure information accuracy and transparency.

District Head Seo Jun-oh stated that the initiative aims to prevent conflicts among residents caused by information asymmetry and to increase administrative trust. By providing transparent access to project progress, the district hopes to reduce delays caused by litigation or internal disputes. Additionally, the district is pursuing regulatory reforms and has established expert advisory groups to support projects from the planning stage through to completion.
