NPB season concludes with stolen base records and Hanshin Tigers dominance

The conclusion of the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) regular season has highlighted significant individual achievements and team dominance. In the Central League, Yakuult Swallows outfielder Yukihiro Iwata secured his first stolen base title with 39 steals, a notable increase from previous seasons. Hiroshima Carp's Kounosuke Tatsumi also set a new Japanese record for stolen bases by a pinch-runner, recording 27 steals.

In the Pacific League, SoftBank Hawks' Yuki Shuto maintained his dominance by winning the stolen base title for the fourth consecutive year with 30 steals. His teammate Yudai Shoji followed in second place with 22 steals. Both players have been selected for the Samurai Japan roster for the upcoming Asia Professional Baseball Championship.

Meanwhile, the Hanshin Tigers demonstrated overwhelming strength across various categories. Commentator Yoshiaki Kanemura noted the team's dominance, as Hanshin players captured nine out of twelve available titles. This included a massive performance by Teruaki Sato, who achieved a triple crown by leading in batting average, home runs, and RBIs.
