NPFL and Afrinvest deepen partnership to grow digital club revenue

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has renewed its partnership with financial services firm Afrinvest to accelerate digital transformation and increase commercial capacity for its 20 clubs. The agreement was highlighted at a media and marketing workshop in Enugu, where club officials received training on branding, digital visibility, sponsorship acquisition and fan engagement. NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owunmi urged clubs to generate quality data and content, reduce reliance on government funding and build financially sustainable brands. Afrinvest Enugu Office Manager Emmanuel Eleojo explained the collaboration follows the firm’s “Finance Meets Football” philosophy, aiming to combine sound financial management with football development.

The partnership seeks to create a centralised data repository, improve online presence and attract major commercial partners, positioning digital platforms as the next major revenue source after broadcast rights.
