NPP supporters protest Ayawaso Central electoral album issues

Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the Ayawaso Central Constituency disrupted activities at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Monday, August 10, 2026. The group arrived to demand urgent action regarding concerns over the constituency’s electoral album, alleging that they had not been allowed to see it and that the document contained unresolved challenges.

NPP Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed stated that security personnel initially restricted access because the visit was unannounced. Following the initial confrontation, party officials invited the group's leaders inside for discussions.

The party’s Elections Committee has been directed to meet with the supporters on Tuesday, August 11, to address specific concerns involving two electoral areas cited in their petition. The Electoral Affairs Committee has also been briefed on the matter.
