The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested suspects in two separate operations involving the theft of electricity infrastructure in Kwara and Kano states.

In Kwara State, operatives arrested Nurah Abdullahi and Sherif Abdullahi in the Tanke-Iledu area of Ilorin. Following an intelligence-led operation, authorities recovered vandalized transformer cables, cable peels, a motorcycle, a saw, a knife, and electrical gloves. Investigations are ongoing to identify other accomplices.

In Kano State, NSCDC personnel from the Danbatta Division apprehended Jamilu Inusa. During the operation, officers recovered four bags of aluminum electricity conductor cables, specifically ACSR/AAC types used for overhead distribution lines. The suspect was intercepted while using a vehicle to transport the stolen items. The NSCDC stated that efforts are underway to locate two additional suspects currently at large.
