NSCDC arrests three suspects for N7m internet fraud in Edo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Edo State Command has arrested three suspects for an alleged N7 million internet fraud. The suspects, identified as Peter Odion, Anthony Ernest, and Destiny Saturday, reportedly targeted a Nigerian resident living in Italy.

According to Edo State NSCDC Commandant Akintayo Saidi Ayinla, the suspects used a female photograph on Facebook to establish contact with the victim. One suspect, Destiny Saturday, allegedly posed as a female native doctor and spiritualist to convince the victim to make multiple payments for purported spiritual services. Following a petition by a legal representative, NSCDC operatives used intelligence-driven tracking to locate and arrest the individuals. The suspects have reportedly confessed to the offense and await prosecution.
