In one instance, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Odigie Moses in Ekpoma. Moses is accused of a sextortion scheme targeting an Indian woman by posing as a spiritual healer on the Zelle platform. He allegedly convinced the victim to perform a naked ‘spiritual bath’ and recorded the act without consent, subsequently demanding $1,100 to prevent the video’s release.

In a separate case, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested three suspects—Peter Odion, Anthony Ernest, and Destiny Saturday—for an alleged N7 million internet fraud. The group reportedly targeted a Nigerian resident in Italy by using a female photograph on Facebook to establish contact. One suspect, Destiny Saturday, allegedly posed as a female native doctor and spiritualist to solicit multiple payments for purported spiritual services.
