NSCN-K alleges drone strike in Langkho village injured civilians
The NSCN-K (Yung Angh) has condemned a reported drone strike in Langkho village, located in the Eastern Konyak Region, alleging that the attack was carried out by the Indian Army. The group claims the incident occurred in the early hours of October 3 and resulted in serious injuries to two civilians, including a nine-year-old girl.
In a statement, the NSCN-K (YA) described the strike as a “cowardly and indiscriminate” act that constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law. The group called for intervention and scrutiny from the United Nations and other international monitoring organizations, labeling the event as “state-sponsored terrorism.”
Separately, the Ganglei Area Students Union (GASU) reported that the strike occurred near the residence of Col. Akham Konyak of the NSCN-K (YA) in the Naga Self-Administered Zone of Myanmar's Sagaing Region. GASU noted that the incident reportedly injured a 12-year-old girl named Shongmah. The claims regarding the Indian military's involvement have not been independently verified.
