NSW Police investigate fatal fire and conduct major drug busts

Police in New South Wales have conducted several major operations involving arson, drug seizures, and theft investigations. In Cootamundra, a 20-year-old man was charged with property damage by fire after a unit block on Sutton Street was destroyed on September 11. An 18-year-old man was also arrested and charged with larceny and property damage following a search related to a separate theft.

In a separate investigation, Strike Force Ferront detectives arrested three individuals in Parkes and Condobolin following a rural property break-in and utility theft. During the operation, police seized methylamphetamine, cannabis, and electronic devices.

Additionally, a tragic house fire on Waugoola Road in Woodstock resulted in the death of a four-year-old child. Emergency services found the property well alight, and while a woman and two children escaped, the child's body was discovered inside the home by firefighters. Inquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
