NSW domestic violence police operations

Overview

NSW Police, in collaboration with ACT Policing and the Australian Federal Police, conducted ‘Operation Amarok 14’, a three-day crackdown on domestic and family violence between August 14 and August 16.

The operation resulted in 732 arrests and 228 executed arrest warrants, with a total of 1,589 charges laid. Officers conducted over 12,000 apprehended domestic violence order (ADVO) compliance checks, identifying 546 breaches, and seized 118 firearms and 16 weapons. This phase of the broader Operation Amarok initiative utilized intelligence-led strategies to target high-risk offenders and included efforts to extradite individuals wanted for alleged domestic violence charges.
