NTT Docomo Business provides free communication tools for Kumamoto earthquake relief

NTT Docomo Business and NTT Sonority are providing free communication solutions and devices to the Uki City Disaster Volunteer Center to support relief efforts following the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto earthquake.

The initiative utilizes ‘BONX WORK’, a field communication solution that enables simultaneous two-way voice calls between multiple users regardless of distance through a combination of earphones, a dedicated app, and smartphones. This system aims to address common challenges in disaster zones, such as information delays caused by relying on multiple apps, difficulty hearing due to ambient noise, and the physical burden of wearing devices for long periods.

The provided equipment includes the ‘BONX Stick’ microphone, charging stations, and various earphone models like the ‘BONX intro knot for Stick’ and ‘BONX BOOST’. These tools are intended to facilitate real-time information sharing for tasks such as reception, needs coordination, and equipment management, thereby improving the operational efficiency of volunteer staff and responders.
