NTT Docomo earthquake relief efforts in Kumamoto
Overview
Following the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto earthquake, NTT Docomo Business and NTT Sonority have deployed free communication tools to the Uki City Disaster Volunteer Center to assist relief efforts.
The initiative utilizes ‘BONX WORK’, a field communication solution designed to enable simultaneous two-way voice calls between multiple users across any distance. The system employs a combination of earphones, a dedicated app, and smartphones to mitigate common disaster-zone challenges, such as ambient noise and information delays caused by fragmented communication apps.
Equipment provided for the relief operations includes ‘BONX Stick’ microphones, charging stations, and various earphone models. These tools are intended to facilitate real-time information sharing for coordination, reception, and equipment management to improve the efficiency of responders and volunteer staff.
