NTT Docomo increases data capacity for ahamo and Docomo mini plans
NTT Docomo has launched a temporary data capacity increase campaign for its ahamo and Docomo mini mobile plans. The campaign, which began on August 1, 2026, allows users to access more data without increasing their monthly base fees.
Under the campaign, ahamo users receive an additional 10GB of data, increasing the monthly allowance from 30GB to 40GB for the standard 2,970 yen plan. Those with the 'Oomori' (large capacity) option will see their limit increase from 110GB to 120GB at the same price. Docomo mini subscribers will also see increases, with 4GB plans moving to 6GB and 10GB plans moving to 12GB.
The increase is applied automatically to eligible subscribers without requiring an application. Docomo stated that the purpose of this trial is to monitor usage patterns and user experience to inform future service improvements. Because this is a limited-time campaign, data capacities will eventually return to their original levels once the evaluation period concludes.
