NTT Docomo to raise prices on over 50 mobile plans

NTT Docomo has announced price increases for more than 50 mobile phone plans, effective December 1. The adjustment will affect over 30 million contracts, representing approximately 75% of the company’s total customer base. Monthly increases are expected to range from ¥110 to ¥550 depending on the specific plan.

Among the affected services are the eximo, eximo Poikatsu, 5G Gigaho, 5G Gigaho Premier, and various Gigaho versions. The irumo plans (3GB, 6GB, and 9GB) will see increases of ¥330, while other modalities will rise by ¥110. Docomo attributed the revision to rising costs for labor, materials, and the necessary investments required to maintain and improve communication infrastructure.

The online-only plan, ahamo, will also undergo changes. The basic plan will transition from 30GB for ¥2,970 to 40GB for ¥3,135 per month. Ahamo will move to a tiered system offering options of 40GB, 60GB, and 120GB. Additionally, legacy plans that are no longer available for new subscriptions, including OCN Mobile ONE, will see monthly increases between ¥110 and ¥330.
