Nahdlatul Ulama rallies leaders and youth ahead of 35th Muktamar

Member of the Regional Representative Council Hilmy Muhammad highlighted the role of ulama in tackling environmental problems such as waste and river pollution during a halaqah in Pekalongan, urging religious leaders to act as guardians of community health.

Gus Miftah advocated for KH Imam Jazuli as the next chairman of PBNU, stressing that the organization needs a leader who blends traditional pesantren roots with the capacity to address globalization, digital transformation, economic empowerment and international diplomacy.

East Java DPRD chairman M. Musyafak encouraged the IPNU‑IPPNU youth groups in Surabaya to become proactive problem‑solvers for local environmental and social challenges, calling on them to use creative, generation‑Z‑focused approaches.

PBNU chairman Savic Ali warned against marginalising dissenting ideas, emphasizing that accommodating diverse viewpoints is essential for NU’s resilience and urging the outcomes of pre‑Muktamar discussions to shape the organisation’s agenda for the next five years.
