Nubank leads debt renegotiations via Novo Desenrola program

Nubank is leading debt renegotiations through the Novo Desenrola program, recording approximately 568,000 installment agreements totaling roughly R$ 1 billion. The bank estimates this will result in R$ 443 million in savings regarding credit costs. Bradesco follows with 329,500 renegotiations amounting to R$ 662.7 million. Overall, the Novo Desenrola program has moved R$ 25.5 billion, exceeding initial estimates of R$ 20 billion, offering consumers average discounts of 80%.

Despite the success of these renegotiation programs, a Central Bank of Brazil survey indicates that financial institutions expect delinquency rates to continue deteriorating in the third quarter of 2026, albeit at a slower pace than the previous quarter. The survey, which measures the sentiment of participating institutions, shows that while credit demand remains firm, lenders are becoming more restrictive with credit supply due to ongoing delinquency concerns.
