Nuevas Plumas Chile 2026 chronicle prize deadline approaches

The deadline for the third edition of the “Nuevas Plumas Chile 2026” unpublished Spanish chronicle prize is approaching, with applications open until September 5, 2026. The initiative aims to promote narrative journalism and support new local writing talent in Chile.

Organized by Universidad Portátil in collaboration with the School of Journalism at Universidad Andrés Bello, the contest is open to individuals up to 35 years of age. This includes Chilean residents abroad and any nationality residing in Chile. Submissions must be unpublished, original works in Spanish on any topic, with a maximum length of 17,000 characters.

The winner will receive 1,000,000 Chilean pesos and publication. Finalists will be announced in November, and the winner will be revealed during “La Furia del Libro” in December 2026.
