Nuevas Plumas Chile 2026 opens call for unpublished chronicles

The third edition of the “Nuevas Plumas Chile 2026” award for unpublished Spanish-language chronicles is currently accepting entries. Organized by Universidad Portátil in collaboration with the Universidad Andrés Bello School of Journalism, the initiative aims to promote narrative journalism and support new local writing talent.

The competition is open to individuals up to 35 years of age, including Chileans living abroad and any nationality residing in Chile. Participants must submit an unpublished chronicle of any theme, with a maximum length of 17,000 characters. The deadline for submissions is September 5, 2026.

The winner will receive 1,000,000 Chilean pesos, publication of their chronicle, and inclusion in a book featuring the 15 finalists, published by Berrinche Editores. The winner will be announced in December 2026 during the La Furia del Libro event.
