Nuevo Laredo expands community services and civil society dialogue

The municipal government of Nuevo Laredo has implemented several initiatives to enhance community engagement and service accessibility. Through the ‘Presidencia Cerquita de Ti’ program, authorities brought various administrative and social services directly to the Colinas del Sur neighborhood.

During these sessions, residents accessed health brigades offering general medicine, nutrition, psychology, and women’s health services, alongside diagnostic tests for glucose and blood pressure. Other available services included property tax payments, legal counseling, document issuance, and registration for social, cultural, and sports programs. The initiative involved multiple agencies, including the Civil Registry, the State Fiscal Office, and the Colegio de Notarios de Nuevo Laredo.

In a separate effort to strengthen social projects, the city held its second Dialogue Table with civil society organizations. Led by the Secretary of Social Welfare, Liliana Arjona Barocio, the meeting served as a platform for community organizations to present proposals and discuss the challenges they face, aiming to improve coordination between municipal authorities and local social initiatives.
