Nuevo Laredo's Museum of Science, Technology and Planetarium Nears Opening
Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal announced that Nuevo Laredo's Museum of Science, Technology and Planetarium is in its final preparation phase. personnel from the Federal Electricity Commission inspected the building’s electrical installations, equipment, elevators and climate‑control systems and reported no deficiencies, confirming the complex is ready to begin operations. The municipal government will complete the definitive electrical connection in the coming days and will run final operational tests before the inauguration. The planetarium is also in its last equipment stage, with a specialized screen being installed to project immersive content on the universe, science, the environment and life on Earth. The project, described as a historic investment, aligns with President Claudia Sheinbaum’s national vision on science and technology, and is expected to become a cultural and tourism landmark for thousands of students and visitors in the region, located on Avenida Juárez and Maclovio Herrera near the municipal palace.
Canturosas said, “La transformación también se construye acercando el conocimiento, la ciencia y la tecnología a nuestra niñez y juventud; este museo será un espacio donde las nuevas generaciones podrán despertar su curiosidad, imaginar un mejor futuro y descubrir que en Nuevo Laredo también se forman los grandes talentos que impulsarán el desarrollo de México.”
