Nuevo Laredo mayor renovates key road to Piedras Negras bridge

The municipal government of Nuevo Laredo, led by mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal, launched a rehabilitation project on the road to Piedras Negras, the main access route to the Puente del Comercio Mundial.

Workers replaced about 980 meters of asphalt with a new pavement structure using cement and caliche, added a homogenization layer, and improved drainage to address water accumulation. The upgrade is intended to increase safety, mobility and the competitiveness of the city’s logistics hub, directly benefiting thousands of residents and the transport sector that moves daily cargo across the bridge.
