Nuevo Laredo expands public services and earns international clean‑city award

The municipal government of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, received the International Solid Waste Association’s “Escoba de Platino” award for its CIGA platform, a technology that lets residents report and track issues such as waste collection, street lighting and urban cleaning.

The city’s water utility, COMAPA, set up a mobile assistance module in the Infonavit neighbourhood, offering on‑site registration, fee discounts, debt regularisation and other services to water‑fee payers.

The State Fiscal Office in Nuevo Laredo announced a four‑to‑five‑month expansion project that will create a dedicated area for driver‑license processing, separate from other vehicle‑registration services, aiming to shorten wait times for roughly 100,000 annual users.
